I am an artist and scholar, currently employed as an adjunct professor of Visual Arts at ISI Florence in Italy. I completed a PhD in Visual and Performing Arts at the University of Texas, Dallas, as well as a MA in Communication Design from the Glasgow School of Art and a MA and BA in Philosophy from La Sapienza University of Rome.

 

I have exhibited my work in several group and solo shows in the USA, UK, Italy, China, South Korea, and Japan; held teaching appointments at American, European, and Asian universities; presented my artistic projects at international academic conferences; and published articles about my work in peer-reviewed journals. 

 

My theoretical research and studio art practice are closely interconnected, informing and enriching one another. Drawing on feminist philosophy, ecocriticism, and 2D analogue and digital artistic techniques, I investigate dynamics of power and control, female subjectivity and material existence, and the relationships between humans and the more-than-human world. The questions shaping my research have emerged through close engagement with the places, communities, and environments in which I have lived, studied, and worked. Over time, my initial focus on gender and representation has expanded to encompass bodies, landscapes, soil, food, and more-than-human life, bringing my artistic practice into dialogue with ecofeminism and the environmental humanities.
